“I went to fill up at the local service station this weekend. While I
was waiting, a woman appeared. At first she startled me, as I didnt
see her coming. I had my door open when she approached and my guard was intantly up. She began telling me a long story of how she needed to get back to St. Stephens. She had had a family emergency and ended up at the hospital in my town. She needed gas money to get home. She pointed to a beat up van and added if I would give her the money and my address, she would mail it back to me. Normally, I am a huge skeptic, but for whatever reason, I dug in my purse and gave her 20.00. It was all I had in my purse at the time. I did not give her
my address as I didnt want her to try and return the money. I watched as the van pulled up to the pump and began filling up. I was feeling pretty good about everything until I saw another person in the van asking someone else for money. It was a big van, maybe they needed a little more to get them home? I have since found out that there is a scam going on and I got snuckered. The thing is, I really didnt. I did the right thing, and karma will come around to those who dont.”
