About Instant Karma
August 28, 2007
I carry a small leatherbound journal and a canon powershot camera with me everywhere I go. Not many, if any, people know that I do this. No one has ever asked what the camera is for (most assume) and no one certainly has ever seen the inside of the journal.
Between the leather lies sheets upon sheets of paper filled with scribbles, words, quotes, pictures, drawings – all of which inspire me to be better and remind me of the good that is in the world. For a while I used this journal on bad or sluggish days as a “pick-me-up” of sorts. The camera was used to capture images that words just could not describe.
The world seems to thrive on sensationalism – the bottom line – what sells. Gone are the days of “feel good” stories. Instead, they are traded in for gossip. I’m not innocent, I visit those websites as well. In a world filled with bad days, wars, and broken hearts, surely we could all use a little leather notebook in our lives. Welcome to instant karma.
This is a break away from the news. One site devoted specifically and exclusively to the miracle that is the human being and the hopes, triumphs, and little beauties in all of us. Share your stories. Email your pictures. Upload your videos. It’s time to change the world.
